High Water Conditions

What does this mean?
  • Five or more of the last 10 six-minute readings at a tide gauge are 1.5 feet above the predicted water level.
  • There may be flooding in the area.

Low Water Conditions

What does this mean?
  • The average of the previous 12 hours of observations were found to be below the elevation of *Low Water Datum (LWD).
  • Use caution when transiting these areas as depth soundings may be less than those found on the NOAA nautical charts.
*The elevation of LWD is the chart datum of a particular lake or section of a connecting river.
