How to reach: To reach the tidal bench marks from the intersection of Interstate Highway 5 and Palm Avenue (State Highway 75), proceed west on Palm Avenue for about 4.0 km (2.5 mi) to 1st Street, turn left on 1st Street and continue south for 0.5 km (0.3 mi) to Imperial Beach Municipal Pier. The bench marks are located in the vicinity of the pier, on Mar Vista High School grounds, on the elementary school grounds, and along Palm Avenue. The tide gage and staff were located at the west end of the pier.
