How to reach: To reach the tidal bench marks from the junction of U.S. Highway 1 and State Road A1A south in Fort Pierce, go east on State Road A1A South for 1.45 km (0.9 mi) to the junction of a paved road on the left paralleling State Road A1A South, turn left on the paved road and go north then west for 0.40 km (0.25 mi) to the dead end and the end of truck travel. The tide gage is on the left attached to the SE end of the old bridge pier, about 1.52 m (5.0 ft) below the level of the fishing pier. The tidal bench marks are in the vicinity of the fishing pier and State Road A1A South.
