How to reach: To reach the tidal bench marks from the intersection of State Highway 44 East (Live Oak Avenue) and State Highway A1A (Lytle Avenue) in New Smyrna Beach, go east on State Highway A1A (Lytle Avenue) for 1.93 km (1.2 mi) to the junction of Peninsula Avenue on the left, turn left on Peninsula Avenue and go North for 0.97 km (0.6 mi) to the intersection of State Highway 44 (Flagler Avenue), continue north on Peninsula Avenue for 3.22 km (2.0 mi) to the entrance of the Ponce de Leon Inlet Coast Guard Station, passing through the gate, go west for about 48.77 m (160.0 ft) to the first drive on the left, turn left on the drive and go south for about 48.77 m (160.0 ft) to the seawall. The tidal bench marks are in the general vicinity of the seawall, just east of the boat ramp and the end of truck travel, now by walking, go south for about 17.68 m (58.0 ft) where the tide gauge is attached to the southwest end of a wooden dock.
