How to reach: To reach the tidal bench marks fron the intersection of U.S. Highway 17 and State Road 41, proceed NW on State Road 41 for 8.9 km (5.5 mi) to the junction of State Roads S-8-98 and S-8-33 in Cainhoy, go east on State Road S-8-33 for 0.08 km (0.05 mi) to State Road S-8-26, then 0.5 km (0.3 mi) south on State Road S-8-26 to the Post Office in Wando. The bench marks are at the Post Office and along the shore. The tide gage and staff were on the pier behind the Cox residence, about 0.08 km (0.05 mi) SE of the Post Office.
