To reach the tidal bench marks from the Molokai (Ho'olehua) airport, turn right
onto Puupeelua Avenue heading south, turn left onto Mouna Loa Highway (SR 460),
continue on Mouna Loa Highway for 13 km (8 MI), then turn right onto Wharf Road.
The bench marks are located on the Pier Island and in the vicinity. The tide
gauge was located on the Pier Island within the ferry landing waiting area.

The bench mark is a disk set in Young Brother's Pier in Kaunakakai Harbor near
the west gated entrance to Pier, 23.50 m (77.1 ft) SW of NE face of pier, 0.94 m
(3.1 ft) NE of west support for the gate, and 0.47 m (1.5 ft) east of west face
of pier.

of SW face of a light support.

near the Ferry waiting building at the end of the wharf, 17.43 m (57.2 ft) north
of the east support of the west gate leading to Young Brother's Pier, 6.77 m
(22.2 ft) north of a stop sign at the end of a cyclone fence on the east side of
the road, 1.30 m (4.3 ft) east of the middle of the road, 0.14 m (0.5 ft) below
surface of road and encased in a PVC pipe.

Mean Sea Level (MSL) is a tidal datum determined over a 19-year National
Tidal Datum Epoch. It pertains to local mean sea level and should not be
confused with any other fixed island datum.
This tide station location has a local island datum. Island datums
are specific fixed geodetic datums whose elevation relationship to local MSL
and other tidal datums may not be consistent from one location to another.
The Vertical Mark Number (VM#) and PID# shown on the bench mark sheet are unique
identifiers for bench marks in the tidal and geodetic databases, respectively.
Each bench mark in either database has a single, unique VM# and/or PID# assigned.
Where both VM# and PID# are indicated, both tidal and geodetic elevations are
available for the bench mark listed.
