Location:

To reach the tidal bench marks from ferry: Head west toward the Alaska Railroad pier. Gauge is located in the SW corner of the Cruise Ship Terminal building located on the pier. To reach the tidal bench marks from Highway: Route 1 (Seward Highway) from Anchorage or Homer to Route 9 to Seward; as soon as you enter Seward look for boat harbor. Prior to reaching the boat harbor make a left on Port Avenue. L ook for the large wooden Alaska Railroad sign on the south side of Port Ave. Turn right just before reaching the sign. This road will lead to the Alaska Railroad pier. Gauge is located in the SW corner of the Cruise Ship Terminal building located on the pier. Note: Tide the tide station is located in a MARSEC regulated area; permission must be granted prior to access some of the bench marks.
