Location:

To reach the tidal bench marks from the Friday Harbor Ferry Terminal follow Spring Street 0.2 km (0.1 mi) and turn right on Second Street, then go 0.6 km (0.4 mi) and turn right on Tucker Street. Travel 0.5 km (0.3 mi) and turn right onto the University of Washington Friday Harbor Laboratory grounds, go 1.0 km (0.6 mi) and turn right into the first parking lot and follow the road along the water to the small boat pier. The bench marks are located in the vicinity of the University of Washington Oceanographic Laboratory compound and just inland from the shore. The tide gauge is located in the compressor shack on the small boat pier.
