Location:
To reach the tidal bench marks from the intersection of U.S. Highway 1 and State Highway 3 proceed SE along Highway 3 from Ellsworth to Bar Harbor. Then from the Post Office in downtown Bar Harbor continue 0.5 km (0.3 mi) ENE on Cottage Street to the intersection of Main Street (Route 3) and Cottage Street. Continue 0.2 km (0.1 mi) NNW on Main Street. Turn right to the municipal pier and gage site. The bench marks are in the near area.
