Location:
To reach the tidal bench marks, from the Lunalilo Highway (H-1) take Exit 20A north onto the Likelike Highway (Route 63), proceed to the Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) and turn left, proceed to Lilipuna Road and turn right (east). Proceed 2.1 km (1.3 mi) until an unmarked entrance to the University of Hawaii Marine Lab Dock is reached. There is a gate across the driveway for which you will need an access code to open it. Park in the parking lot and take the ferry over to Coconut Island. The bench marks are located in the vicinity on the island. The tide station is located on the west side of the island adjacent to the shark ponds.
