Storm Analysis

No further QuickLooks will be posted for this storm unless conditions warrant and the National Hurricane Center (NHC) issues a new Tropical Storm Warning for the U.S. coastline.

As of 09/02/2008 14:00 CDT, water levels along the northern Gulf Coast from MS to eastern LA  are mostly returning to normal; however, they are about 1-4 feet above predicted. Water levels at West Bank 1, Bayou Gauche, LA, and New Canal Station, LA are elevated. The highest water level elevation  about 4 feet above predicted is at New Canal Station, LA. Winds have decreased across the region. Barometric pressure is rising along the northern Gulf Coast.

Water levels in bays and associated waterways may remain elevated and include impacts from hydrological forces, including rainfall runoff. For additional hydrological information, see NWS Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Services or National Weather Service Forecast Office.

Future information on this system can be found
in public advisories issued by the Hydrometeorological Prediction Center.
