As of 11/10/2011 14:00 AKST, water levels at Nome, AK and Red Dog Dock, AK are still elevated but falling. Water levels at Nome peaked at approximately 8.7 feet above tidally predicted levels but have fallen to 2.25 feet above predictions*. Water levels at Red Dog, AK have fallen to 1.8 feet above predictions. Observations at Village Cove, along the Alaskan Peninsula and the Aleutian Islands are at or slightly below predicted values. Winds at Red Dog Dock have decreased significantly to speeds of around 7 knots with higher gusts. Winds at Nome, AK are still elevated with gusts of more than 30 knots observed over the past few hours. Winds at Village Cove and along the Alaskan Peninsula have fallen to 5-10 knots with higher gusts. Winds are slightly elevated along the Aleutians with gusts of 25 knots observed at Nikolski. Barometric pressure is still below normal levels but has increased to 993mb at Red Dog Dock and 995 mb at Nome. Water Level and Meteorological plots available below are updated automatically.
