This near surface current velocity animation was created from the latest NYOFS forecast guidance for Kill Van Kull and adjoining parts of Upper Bay, Newark Bay, and Arthur Kill. The forecast guidance is for the near-future water current velocities in the Channel area as simulated by the model when forced by coastal water levels and winds that are predicted by National Weather Service models and CO-OPS tidal predictions.
