Water Level Forecast Guidance
This water level animation was created with hourly plots from the latest LMOFS forecast guidance. The forecast guidance is for the next 30 hours of water levels as simulated by the model when the Lake Michigan is forced by meteorological parameters that are predicted by the National Weather Service models. The spatial pattern of the highs and lows is due to meteorological forcing, mainly winds. Areas of red and orange (green and blue) show locations of high (low) water which progresses through the Lake according to the wind speed and direction
