This near surface water salinity animation was created from the latest CBOFS forecast guidance in the Chesapeake Bay. The forecast is for the next 48 hours of surface water salinity as simulated by CBOFS when the bay is forced by forecast products from the National Weather Service's North American Model (NAM) and Extra Tropical Storm Surge (ETSS), and the Navy's Coastal Ocean Model (NCOM).
